Established in 1928, its territory is 100 hectares. Architect-avant-gardist K.S. Melnikov was the park (abbreviation for which is TsPKiO) architect-in-chief, who accomplished in the late 20s of the XX century the planning of the park parterre – from the entrance till the Neskuchny Sad (The Enjoyable Garden). In the center of the parterre Melnikov thought over a fountain, in which «an architecture was formed by water jets themselves»[2]. The fountain upon the Melnikov’s project had never been built, but in the mid 1930s on the same place a different from its character standpoint fountain by architect A.V. Vlasov was constructed. The Park Central Entrance is engineered according to the project of architect V. A. Shchuko.
