Museum association «Museum of Moscow» is a unique object of the cultural and historical legacy, one of the oldest museums of the capital. Different stages of the Moscow history appear visually and virtually in the museum expositions and exhibitions, in which the most valuable documents, archeological findings, objects of everyday life of the Muscovites, art and applied art works are combined.
Constant exposition «From a settlement up to a capital city. Moscow history from the XIIth to the XVIIth cc.», exhibition «The Moscow of Gilyarovsky», and other exhibitions from the museum funds are represented in the Museum of Moscow.
Recently architectural complex «Provision Stores» has been passed to the museum. Temporary exhibitions are held there nowadays, and in the perspective a large museum and exhibition complex is to appear in it. Future exposition «Moscow from ancient times till nowadays» will allow reflecting the development of the city and urban society to the full extent.

The Museum is situated in the underground pavilion immediately on the site of large-scale archeological findings held in the Manezh Square in 1993-1996. The exposition is based on the Resurrection bridge of the XVI–XVII cc. pillars, which were found during archeological diggings. The most interesting archeological findings discovered in the central part of the city (monetary and thing treasures, items of medieval everyday life of urban dwellers, etc.) are represented it the museum.

The Old English Court Chambers are one of the rare examples of the XV-XVII cc. civilian architecture, preserved in the historical center of the capital in Zaryadye (the Beyond the Rows district). The museum exposition narrates about the life of the English Merchant Court in Moscow, and how the trade between two countries emerged.

The museum exposition narrates about the creation, death, and resurrection of the Christ the Savior (the Redeemer) Cathedral, which is considered to be a national sacred place, memorial to the deed of the Russian people in the Patriotic war.

The exposition tells us about three centuries of the district life – from the moment of its emergence with the participation of Czar Peter I and his associate, inhabitant of the Foreign Quarter, Switzer Franz Lefort, till nowadays, when Lefortovo is a large industrial district of our capital.

The Country Estate of Kuzminki runs for more than 300 years. Its history is connected with names of famous noble dynasties of the Golitsyns and the Stroganovs. Since 1999 the museum of the country estate exists on its territory. The exposition and exhibitions opened in the «Manservant’s Outhouse» and «The Stables», highlight the history of the country estate of the late XVIIIth – early XXth cc.

The museum collections and exposition reflect the local history and culture, the economy of local dwellers, show the formation of the town of science and different aspects of urban life. A military and historical rooms are dedicated to the defense of Moscow. Art exhibitions are held at the museum regularly. A great deal of attention is paid to the work with children.

The museum was inaugurated on the 18th of May, 2004. The exposition is dedicated to the history of mass political repressions of the territory of the former USSR and opened by the portrait gallery of famous politicians and army leaders, workers of science and culture, repressed by Stalin. Dioramas and models, documents, authentic letters, newspapers, a narration about the destinies of certain people allow better understanding and feeling the tragedy of those years. The part of the premises and the museum inner yard are reserved for the purposes of establishing an art gallery.

The Museum is established into commemoration of Moscow defenders. The museum exposition reflects the greatest battle of the Great Patriotic war and the World War II, which the Battle of Moscow is. Around thousands of genuine evidences of the battle битвы are collected here, such as: photo documents, letters and journals of famous military leaders and those, who perished for Moscow in the very beginning of the war; the extended collection of war German newspapers, leaflets, letters of German soldiers and officers.

Museum „House on the Embankment“ is dedicated to the history of the famous residential block, narrates about its dwellers lived in it in 1930-50s, among whom members of government, military leaders, famous scientists and art workers were. Uniqueness of that rather small museum is also in the fact of restoration of the habitat of the Soviet intelligensia of 30s in it. The genuine furniture created after the sketches of the house architect-in-chief B.M. Iofan especially for the „House on the Embankment“ of the house of Government, which was the way the building was called in 30s of the last century, is kept in the museum. The main treasure of the museum is the archive, which reflects the destiny of Russia via fates of people and family stories.

The museum and memorial complex of the history of the military fleet of Russia was opened in July, 2006 in the Khimkinskoye water reservoir area of water. The museum was organized on the basis of big diesel and electrical submarine B-396. Torpedo, diesel, electromotor, living, and stern-part compartments of the submarine as the central controller point as well are opened for viewers’ observance. Transport screen-plane „Orlyonok (Eaglet)“ and landing-assault scooter «Cramp-fish» are located near the submarine. On the open grounds there are unique exhibits taken from атомных and diesel submarines. Comfortable conditions are created for people, visiting the museum, including those with children and people with restricted abilities.

The one and only museum complex is entirely dedicated to the concrete example of armament and military technical equipment such as tank T-34 is. The exposition is placed on two levels and get the visitors acquainted with the history of design and development of tank Т-34, narrates about fight usage of «thirty-four» during the years of the Great Patriotic war and in local conflicts of the ХХth century. Eight tanks and an artillery set (artillery mount) are near, on the open ground.

The museum exposition is dedicated to the Patriotic war of 1812. The museum central exhibit is the huge panorama, which depicts the culmination moment of the battle of Borodino. The panorama combines the picturesque canvas by artist F. Rubo, a subject plan and special light. Exposition survey accompanied by sound effects, which reproduce fight elements and fragmanets of P.I. Tchaikovsky overture «1812 year», calls the great interest of both adult visitors as children as well. Arms, items of the filed life of war participants, batal paintings, portreits, sculptures, and etchings are introduced in the museum rooms.

The State V. S. Vysotsky cultural center and museum is a scientific, research and cultural center, which deals with collection, storage and popularization of materials, which reflect the V. The museum is situated in the house, which is an architectural monument. Z.A. Volkonskaya, whose literary and musical parlor was one of the most famous in Moscow, lived here. In 1935-36s one of the apartments in this house was occupied by writer N.A. Ostrovsky. In 1940 his apartment became a memorial museum. Already during the very first years of its activity the museum became collecting material about people with heavy physical disadvantages, who expressed the will to overcome and found the essence of life in the creative work. Due to expanding its activity the new name was given to the museum, which is the State museum and humanitarian center «Preodoleniye (Overcoming)» named after N.A. Ostrovsky. Art exhibitions, which show the creative work of people with restricted health possibilities as exhibitions of works of the Moscow artists as well, are held here regularly. Every week the museum holds musical and literary receptions. Festivals «December parlors into commemoration of Countess Z. A. Volkonskaya» and «At the point of centuries» are held annually.

One of the largest literary museums of Russia and Europe is located in the building, which is situated in the ancient country estate in the center of Moscow. The materials connected with the life and creative work of A.S. Pushkin, his époque, history of literature and the Pushkin studies are kept here. The museum collection is introduced in exposition «Pushkin and his époque» in Prechistenka and the Memorial A. S. Pushkin apartment.
One of the most important directions in the museum activity is the work with children, holding family programs, accomplishing theatrical and musical projects. The Children’s center operates in the Museums; there are a concert hall and a library in the museum.

The State V.V. Mayakovsky Museum is of great interest for all, who like the Russian avant-garde poetry and art. The museum exposition is an imaginary-symbolic model of the Mayakovsky creative world and time. The memorial staircase, which leads to the fourth floor into the space of the former communal flat to a tiny room boat, in which during 11 years Mayakovsky had been living and working, and where on April 14th, 1930 the fatal shot of the «comrade Mauser» sounded, is its central nerve. Tours are conducted, theme lections are given, poetry readings and musicales are held, theatrical productions are staged at the museum.

In 2007 in apartment # 50, which is situated in house # 10 in Bolshaya (Big) Sadovaya Street in Moscow the first ever in Russian museum of great Russian writer M.A. Bulgakov was established. These walls remember, how in fall, 1921 M. Bulgakov with his wife moved here, to a communal flat. Here he spend his very first years in Moscow, — gloomy, fussy, hungry, though unbelievably fruitful ones. «Dyavoliada (the Ballade about the Devil)», «The Young Doctor’s Notes» and «Morphine», «Fatal Eggs», «The White Guard» have been written here. The apartment became a legendary one well before the museum has been created here, this is the very same «wicked» flat, which Bulgakov has described in novel «The Master and Margarita». The writer’s fans pilgrimized to here, leaving love expressions at the staircase walls. In the recently created museum the following expositions are opened for visiting: the Room of Bulgakov, A Kitchen, Exposition «The Pigit’s House», and the Living-room, where productions are staged and concerts are held regularly. Temporary exhibitions are held at the museum.

In 1992 in a small mansion in Borisoglebsky lane a remarkable museum – the Marina Tsvetaeva House-Museum was opened. Here in 1914 Marina Tsvetaeva rented a flat. Eight years, during which she had been living in Borisoglebsky lane, is an entire époque, if we take into consideration the number and the scale of events survived, and the precipitation of the enlargement of the mind. The best ever lyrics have been written here, the wonderful moments of love, joy, and prosperity have been experienced here. Here she had to grapple cold, hunger, and desperation, here the Marina’s younger daughter was born and lived her succinct life.
In a small and cozy concert hall the author’s evenings of poets and writers, books and magazines presentations, social functions with scholars, artists, and musicians are held. Here too exhibitions of arts and art photography are organized. At „The Poets’ Cafe“ disputes, meetings of a poetic association and „The Russian Literature Amateur Club“ are held.

The museum exposition was created in commemoration of the 100th anniversary since the birthday of S. Yesenin, in the house, where the poet’s father had been living for many years. Exactly here in 1911 young Sergey Yesenin came from the native Ryazan areas. The memorial room, which due to a glass wall changes into a room-showcase, creating an illusion of presenting in it, is the exposition center. A talent art solution, availability of authentic articles, ancient photos, and manuscripts pass the atmosphere, in which the Poetry was born. Having visited the museum, it is possible to hear the poet himself reading his lyrics, to see rear film images, chased S. Yesenin, to hear songs after his lines.

The museum is situated in „The Gardener’s Ell“ in the territory the country estate of Vlakhernskoye-Kuzminki. The permanent exposition is dedicated to the life and creative work of remarkable Russian writer K.G. Paustovsky. Here memorabilia, manuscripts, unique photos, and books are collected. On the first floor of the mansion theme exhibitions are arranged. Every month the museum organizes chamber social functions in its literary and musical parlors.

«The N. V. Gogol House» is situated in the mansion of General A. I. Talyzin. Here N. V. Gogol spent last days of his life (from 1848 to 1852). Philanthropist A. P. Tolstoy made two rooms, where the historical and memorial exposition situated now, available for Nickolay Vasilyevich. Once visited the museum it is possible to feel the XIXth century flavor, to come to know about the writer’s family, his friends, different phases of his life and creative work. In the memorial center meetings with the Russian creative elite, such as writers, philosophers, actors, and stage directors are arranged regularly. «The N. V. Gogol House» conducts theme bus tours as literary and local studies walking tours along the Boulevard Ring and areas of outstanding historical meaning of the Beyond-the-River-without-Clay district as well.

The Museum is placed in the house, where from 1912 to 1915 outstanding Russian composer, pianist, philosopher, and poet Alexander Nickolaevich Skriabin lived and composed his works of genius. The composer’s contemporaries knew this house very well. Everything, which surrounded A.N. Skriabin while alive, preserved intact at the museum. A chromatic mechanism, изготовленный after the Skriabin sketches to accompany symphonic poem «Prometheus», which was the first ever chromatic and musical work, are there among the museum rarities. The main museum halidom is famous grand piano «Bechstein», which, except of the master, S. Rakhmaninov, Г. Нейгауз, М. Плетнев played. The museum keeps carrying on the work focused on the ideas of philosopher and composer A.N. Skriabin. Musical and chromatic synthesis takes shape in works of students of the Moscow art schools. During music audition young artists pass comogenesis of Skriabin by colors. The exhibition of the child’s creative work is displayed at the museum, in Moscow, and abroad.

The museum, which is located in the mansion of the Petukhovs merchants, was established in 1969 by famous collector Th.Ye. Vishnevsky, who gifted approximately 300 art works to Moscow. Nowadays portraits and drawings by V.A. Tropinin, works of art and graphic by I.Ya. Vishnyakov, Th.S. Rokotov, D.P. Levitsky, V.L. Borovikovsky, O.A. Kiprensky, P.Th. Sokolov, V.I. Gau, and other famous artists of the XVIII-XIXth centuries are there in the museum collection.

In the basis of the exposition there is a collection of canvases gifted to the capital by the artist. The cycles of historical paintings, portraits of contemporaries, pathetic lyric landscapes, canvases for the Bible scenes, illustrations to the literary works by the Russian classics, graphic works of the master and many other things are introduced at the gallery. Icons, items of home everyday life, the XVI–XIX cc. furniture from the personal collection of the artist are on display. Film «White water, the black ice floe» about the life and creative work of People’s Artist of Russia I. S. Glazunov is demonstrated at the cinema hall of the gallery.

The art gallery was opened in 1997 in the mansion built in the early XIX c. by famous architect E.D. Tyurin. The assemblage of canvases oа People’s Artist of Russia A. M. Shilov, gifted by him to the city, is the basis of the museum collection. The museum funds are appended constantly by new works of the master. Exhibitions and concerts are held at the gallery. A good tradition has been started to conduct theme parties «A Meeting by a Portrait» at the artist’s studio, at which new A.M. Shilov works are introduced.

The School of Watercolor Painting of S. Andriaka was opened in 1999 in an ancient mansion built in the end of the XIXth century in the rare for Moscow style of neo-Gothic architecture. Two central rooms of the museum and exhibition complex are dedicated to the creative work of People’s Artist of Russia Sergey Andriaka. Here master-classes are organized and musical concerts are held. In the rooms of transferable expositions works of the Russian and West European graphic and watercolor arts of the XVIIIth – early XXth cc. from the richest collections of the museums of Russia are regularly on display.

The museum corresponds to the creative work of outstanding Russian sculptor, People's Artiste of Russia A. N. Burganov. The museum exposition is a special architectural and art space, which has been projected and created by the sculptor himself. First of all this is a museum-workshop, which shows the modern artist world, the atmosphere of birth of an art work to visitors. The works of A. Burganov, his friends and apprentices are represented at the museum. The main part of the exposition is situated in the open air.

The museum exposition is dedicated to the creative work of largest contemporary Russian sculptor Vadim Sidur. He had featured a multifaceted gifted personality; his legacy includes not only the huge number of sculptural and graphical works, but poetry and even cinematography as well. The artist’s most famous sculptural works, including rather small author’s sculptures, which served as models to enlarge and mounted in different cities around the world: «The monument to the perished from violence» (Kassel, Germany), «Invocatory» (Düsseldorf, Germany), «The Albert Einstein’s Portrait» (Princeton, the USA), and others are introduced in the museum.
Concerts and literary soirees combined into cycle «Evenings at the Sidur Museum» find permanent popularity among Muscovites.

The museum deals with collecting folk graphics, scientific and exhibition activity towards the Russian amateur painting or print propaganda.
Under the auspices of the museum children’s art school «The bright colors of amateur painting or print – XXI century» works. Master Class «My Little Fair Lady», where children paint, print, and draw is conducted regularly.

The museum was opened in 1999 in the country estate of the late XVIIIth century, in the merchant Gubin’s manor house built by architect M. Kazakov. President of the Russian Academy of Arts Z. C. Tseretely has become a creator and the first ever museum director. Many exhibits in the museum inventory are from his own collection, which was presented to the museum as a donation by the owner. The museum introduces the main stages of forming and further development of the art avant-garde direction. The major part of the collection consists of the national works, but at the same time the significant part of it is dedicated to the works of foreign authors. Many of displayed exhibits are returned back by Z.C. Tseretely from abroad – acquired at the auctions and in the prestigious galleries. The permanent exposition and temporary exhibitions function, and Modern Art School «Liberal Workshops» operates in the museum.

Moscow association «Museon» fulfills the project of creating the only not in the capital only, but in entire Russia Park of Arts with the Museum of Sculpture in the open air. They have succeeded to collect more than 700 unique author’s works made of stone, metal, and wood in the park-museum exposition, works of sculptors belonging to the different generations and styles are introduced there, works of the entire period of the development of the Russian sculpture of the XXth — early XXIst centuries. On the Park’s territory they hold one-man exhibitions of famous sculptors and artists, children’s holidays, festivals, and concerts annually.
30. Museum and Exhibition Center «Fashion Museum»
The fashion museum is the first ever in the capital and in Russia profile museum of the history of the genesis and development of fashion as one of the forms of cultural life of our society. The People’s Artist of Russia V. Yudashkin’s collection of author’s works, which he created for 20 years of creative activity and donated to the Moscow city, laid the foundation to the museum collection. Due to the historical exposition of fashion in combination with timely exhibitions and demonstrations of the creative work of the costume’s modern designers the museum will become one of the most frequently attended cultural establishments in the capital. The Moscow fashion festivals and exhibitions of the world leading fashion designers organized by the museum can become events attractive for tourists. The Fashion museum, being a young establishment of culture and existing in the conditions of the construction of a new museum building, fulfills its main business activity via organizing exhibitions from the museum fund collections.

The museum is situated in the Novogireevo district in the only preserved from the early ХХth century building made of brick in the Western modern style. This is the first ever in the country state museum, which task is to popularize naïve art as to collect and to store works of naïve artists of Russia as well. For children and adults exhibitions of works of unusual art addressed to not even the sophisticated viewer are held at the museum.

In 1996 on the resolution of the Moscow City Government museum «The Moscow House of Photography» was established. The Museum regularly conducts exhibitions of photography and modern art. Since 1996 the museum annually conducts «International month of photography in Moscow „Photobiennale“ and „Fashion and style in Photography“ international photo festivals. In 2002 on the basis of the Moscow House of Photography the Multimedia Complex of Actual Arts was established, which includes: museum „the Moscow House of Photography“; the Rodchenko Moscow School of Photography and Multimedia; the Multimedia Center.

The exhibition hall is situated in the center of Moscow in the building constructed in 1888 for the 1st Municipal electrical power station. It kept accomplished that task not for a long period of time; later on it was used for different purposes, including that of a governmental garage. Since October, 1995 the new history of the building began. Following the initiative of Moscow mayor Yu.M. Luzhkov in February, 1996 Moscow State Exhibition Hall „Small Manezh“, equipped in state-of-the-art style, was opened here. More than 200 exhibitions have been held here since the Moscow State Exhibition Hall operates.
